Champions' Ballad serves as the finale for Breath of the Wild, and now that it's been released, there won't be any new content crafted for the game. Now, players will be glad to know that they can expect another game in the future as it has just been confirmed that a new upcoming "Zelda" game is being developed. According to Aonuma, work on Breath of the Wild has been completed following the release of the Champion's Ballad expansion, and there will be more additional content for the game. Both of them are included in the season pass for Breath of the Wild, and in fact, purchasing that season pass is the only way to get them - Nintendo isn't offering them separately.
The producer of the highly-acclaimed video game franchise shared the update in the new "Breath of the Wild" artbook titled "Master Works". After all, Aonoma and Nintendo have always dutifully worked on new "Zelda" games as soon as the current one is finished.
"I can't say at this point if it will be in sequels or in continuations, or what form it will take, but I definitely have lots of ideas and lots of motivation right now", Fujibayashi said.
So far, the game has sold 4.7 million copies as of Nintendo's latest tally, and most of that also went into pushing out part of the 10 million Switch sales when it was bundled with the console.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" itself was already in development when the earlier "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" launched in 2011.
Legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has previously expressed his desire to release "Legend of Zelda" titles faster, so it is possible that the next game could arrive sooner rather than later.
