20-year-old claims $450M Mega Millions jackpot

A twenty-year-old has just been revealed as the sole victor of a US$451 million (AUD$569,500,000) lottery jackpot - the fourth-largest in the history of the Mega Millions competition.

Missler will actually pocket $281,874,999.00 after taking the lump-sum payment for his winning ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.

Whatever he's going to spend his millions on, Missler sounds like he is going to make responsible decisions after telling lottery officials "I'm only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity".

The jackpot-winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, located at 7131 Ridge Road in Port Richey.

Mr Missler reportedly wasn't very surprised with the win, saying he was a deep believer in the "power of the positive mindset" and had "a feeling" his numbers would make him rich.

The winning Mega Millions numbers were 28, 30, 39, 59, 70, and Mega Ball 10.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that Missler was grinning widely and clutching a yellow envelope when he turned in his ticket Friday at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

In a statement, Missler said: "Although I'm young, I've had a crash course this week in financial management and I feel so fortunate to have this incredible wealth and team behind me". The jackpot is the fourth-largest in Mega Millions history, and Missler is the sole victor. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus. "I look forward to the future".
