Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited () has increased the validity of its unlimited call and data packs of Rs. 186, Rs. 187, Rs. 349, Rs. 429, Rs. 485, and Rs. 666 to please its prepaid subscribers.
This is a promotional offer from BSNL which will offer its customers 2GB of free 3G data with a validity of 30 days.
Other freebies with the two recharge packs include unlimited calls to any network across India (up to 250 minutes a day, 1,000 minutes a week), no charges for calls on roaming, and 100 SMSes per day. It has now taken the place of the more expensive Rs. 448 pack that offers a validity of 82 days, instead of the older 70 days.
Also, do not forget to check out a list of all other packs that offer 1GB 4G data daily. However, after 30 days, subscribers have to buy further data packs or plans to enjoy mobile internet from BSNL.
Reliance Jio had earlier slashed tariffs by Rs 50 for all its monthly schemes under which customers are getting 1 GB data per day and also enhanced data limit to 1.5 GB from the existing 1GB for select plans from January 9 onwards. In the same way, a recharge of Rs 666 will give 1.5GB per day data with a validity of 129 days.
Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509. The former comes with a validity of 54 days, while the latter comes with 81 days of validity. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day. This means users will get a total of 91GB data for 91 days.
The price war between Airtel and Reliance Jio is still on... The new move appears to be a strategic decision to compete against that is already offering cheap unlimited voice call packs in India. Jio offers the highest amount data of all three. Airtel offers a prepaid plan that costs Rs 349 (as good as Rs 350) per billing cycle. The validity of Jio's Rs. 398 pack is also 70 days.
