CES 2018: Google announces Assistant for Smart Displays, Android Auto and more

Looking ahead, Google says that the Google Assistant will be coming to smart displays that are powered by Android Things.

New research has come out that looks at the number of Americans that own a smart speaker along the lines of the Amazon Echo or Google Home devices.

The tech major presently provides 3 Home gadgets namely the Home Max, the original Home, and the Home Mini.

Google Assistant has been around a while, and one of the things it was lacking was a dedicated, comprehensive directory on the web that tells you what it can do. Other companies like Element, Changhong, Hisense, Funai, and Westinghouse said they'd present new devices with the built-in Google assistant.

On the basic technology level, Alexa has, for competition, Apple's Siri, Google Assistant, Microsoft Cortana and Samsung's Bixby. Seven percent of Americans report acquiring at least one smart speaker between Black Friday and the end of 2017, and 4% report acquiring their first smart speaker device during the holidays.

Google showed a lot of support in the Z-Wave Alliance booth, being part of many demonstrations there. The plan is said to starting selling more of their own products and those from Nest, and putting Google Assistant at the center of it all.

Huffman explained that the incoming smart displays will have the smart assistant built in.

Alexa will start YouTube videos with a simple voice command, make video calls via Google Duo, spot a specific photo in Google Photos. The 8-inch model is priced at $199 while the 10-inch will retail at $249 when it goes on sale in early summer. Instead of being reliant exclusively on Echo speakers, Amazon wants as many outside devices to have built-in microphones to access Alexa as possible.

Being powered by Google's services, the Lenovo's Smart Display comes with all types of features and it will give you the best of experience of using a digital smart display with advanced technical features. Did you expect this from Lenovo for this year?
