Detective Pikachu Finally Comes West This March

The move marks another step in the recent resurgence of Pokemon that began with Pokemon Go's release in 2016.

The Pokemon Company has announced that Detective Pikachu will be coming to Nintendo 3DS in North America on March 23, 2018. This is what the Ryan Reynolds film is based on, featuring a taking Pikachu and a boy who will help him solve some mysteries. Tim and this gruff, coffee-drinking Pikachu have teamed up to investigate the disappearance of Tim's father. Who knows just how hard these challenges will be to necessitate the amiibo, but it may be worth picking up for its 13.6cm height (compared to 7.1cm for the original Pikachu amiibo). Players talk to witnesses, obtain clues and work with other Pokémon to crack the case. When that game arrives, it'll be accompanied by an amiibo quite unlike any you've seen before.

There's also a magnum sized Detective Pikachu amiibo coming as well, it's twice the size of a normal Pikachu amiibo at 13.6cm tall. Missed some of the Pika Prompts during your investigation?

Nintendo says there are more details on Detective Pikachu to come, but for now, mark your calendars for March and sharpen those deductive skills.

If you don't already know, Detective Pikachu is a game from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company that centers around the one talking Pikachu in the world and a character named Tim Goodman.
