Kell Brook tells Amir Khan how to make their fight happen

Two years after moving up two divisions and a unsafe middleweight fight in Las Vegas in which he was decisively knocked out in the fifth round by Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Khan outlined his desire to return to the welterweight division and dominate.

He added: "I'm determined to win another world championship and I'm confident I've got the right team behind me to help me do so".

In November a year ago, Khan said he still wants a fight with Kell Brook, but admitted they both need to rebuild their careers with wins before settling their long-running rivalry.

"I'm thrilled to be teaming up with Matchroom", Khan said.

British professional boxer Amir Khan has announce his return to the boxing ring and said he will compete in three bouts this year.

In the past, Khan has spoken of his dislike for Hearn.

Khan has several times in the past, blamed the standoff on Brook's promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Khan said: "Last year was a bit hard for me but the jungle definitely gave me a place to think about life and where I want to be and I decided boxing is where I belong". I'm going to get the feel of boxing again and go to training camp in a few weeks.

'That's one of the reasons why I keep away from Eddie Hearn and his shows, I just don't want to be in that drama'. Eddie, in my view, is the best promoter in the UK. I always said that to him.

Brook warned that he is seriously considering hanging up the gloves at the end of 2018 and says a long-awaited fight between him and Khan has to happen this year.

With the two British brawlers now under the same stable it's now believed that the much-anticipated fight may finally happen this year.

'He's very disrespectful and he's never come clear with me.

Fans will be hoping the partnership will eventually see Khan face off against Brook, but after the former IBF welterweight champion moved up to 154 pounds that showdown is slightly more complicated.

"When Pacquiao went and I heard Kell Brook went up a weight I thought "where do I go from here".

Khan will shortly head back to San Francisco to begin preparations for April 21 at Liverpool's Echo Arena with his American trainer Virgil Hunter.
