Sub-zero wind chills forecast Sunday, Monday; snow possible Tuesday


Avoid spending too much time outdoors early Sunday in the north Georgia mountains.

Newark is forecasted to feel as low as -2 degrees, West Milford could drop to -8 degrees with wind chill and Montgomery to -10 degrees, the National Weather Service said.

Saturday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 4. Freezing rain and sleet developing, then quickly changing to snow.

Tonight: Cloudy with snow developing and continuing throughout the night. Northerly 10-15 miles per hour breezes and gusts up to 20 miles per hour are expected to make it feel about 10-15 degrees colder than that.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of snow.

Saturday, partly sunny, with a high near 17. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Becoming cloudy. Northeast wind around 5 miles per hour.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 7.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.

Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 25. Northeast wind 5 to 13 miles per hour.

By Wednesday the sun should come back out and gradually heat up the rest of the week to a high around 33 on Friday.

Today: Mostly clear, with a low around 50.
