Three Indian Army soldiers fall from Dhruv chopper during rehearsals

The soldiers, who fell down on ground from a height of almost 30 feet when the boom (pulley) supporting the rope reportedly gave away at the Army Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment on Tuesday, are reported to be stable.

Three paratroopers have been injured while practising slithering operations from a rope hanging from a Dhruv advanced light helicopter (ALH) here.

The incident took place on Tuesday in the National Capital while rehearsals for the January 15 event was on. All of a sudden, the rope gets detached and the three men come crashing down, the Financial Express reported.

"No one suffered any serious injury".

In order to determine the actual cause behind the accident which is yet not clear, an enquiry has been ordered by the Indian Army. A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media. "An investigation team has been constituted to probe into the matter", sources in the Army said.

The incident happened when the jawans were coming down from the helicopter with the support of the rope but as the rope detached, they fell on the ground. "The entire boom of the helicopter was taken off, it seems there would be some material-related issue, but the exact reason will be ascertained only after the inquiry report comes in", the source said.

The practice was being held for the upcoming Army Day on January 15.
