Tottenham to hijack Arsenal's bid to sign Malcom from Bordeaux

Arsenal's pursuit of Malcom has been dealt a blow with Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec hinting over potential interest from Liverpool.

Arsenal target Malcom has apparently rejected an offer on the table from the Gunners, which could serve as a huge blow with Alexis Sanchez on the verge of leaving the club for Manchester United.

In case you didn't know.

The 18-year-old centre back only has a contract at Broadhall Way until the end of July, when the player will be available on a free transfer.

It's been chaos and there are still a number of sagas yet to be solved, with the future of Bordeaux's Brazilian wonder-kid Malcom one of the most prominent. I leave that to my agents, to the club. It would be a shame to miss out on Malcom, but this could yet be a good thing. He has made 23 appearances in all competitions scoring seven goals and providing six assists.

Arsene Wenger has stated that Malcom will likely not happen in January. "We are not on that case at the moment". "From our point of view, it's all hot air", he told L'Equipe.

That Malcom is on his way out of the club is not in much doubt.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Bordeaux forward, while Liverpool are also said to be interested.

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be now leading the race to sign Bordeaux winger Malcom, who has also garnered attention for English top-flight rivals Arsenal and Manchester United. However, the 20-year-old would find it hard to break into a starting lineup featuring the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane - though the sale of Philippe Coutinho might help.
