Black Panther: Everything Doesn't Have to Be Gay

Sony took Marvel fans by surprise when they announced a Venom solo film previous year, but it won't be much longer until the movie arrives. As the series gets woven into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, more of the same can be expected.

In the comic book Black Panther: World of Wakanda, Ayo (played in the film version by Florence Kasumba) is in a relationship with another woman named Aneka.

"[Avengers: Infinity War] just scooped up our costumers and our costumes after we were done and just put them in their next movie".

Thus far, this puts Panther at #11 among MCU films in domestic gross and #12 in worldwide figures.

The highly-anticipated opening of Black Panther, the newest Marvel film directed by Ryan Coogler, smashed the box office with global ticket sales soaring above $387 million, making it the top-grossing film in history by a Black director and a predominantly Black cast.

Finally, T'Challa's final fight scene with Killmonger was truly special.

The Capital City Black Film Festival and Soul City participated in the Black Panther Challenge to raise enough money for kids to see the movie.

For several nights Eclipse Theater sold out on "Black Panther" tickets. But all of a sudden, when a film with a Black director and majority Black cast shatters box office records while receiving nearly universal positive praise, they are front and center.

Days after the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Prince T'Challa of Wakanda (Chadwick Boseman) is still mourning the death of his father, King T'Chaka (John Kani).

"Someone called and asked how we pronounced the village name and when I told him, he began yelling, 'Wakanda forever!' which I am guessing is from the film", Homola said to The Hollywood Reporter. Best Marvel movie ever or just really overrated? People are choosing to see the movie in record numbers and support a black-owned business.

The films few comedic moments come in at the right time, yet they don't take away from the overall message and story of the film, something that has affected Marvel movies in the past.
