GOP congressional candidate Paul Nehlen banned from Twitter for racist image

A Republican congressional candidate has been banned from Twitter after he posted a racist picture targeting Meghan Markle.

The original tweet featured an image of the Cheddar Man superimposed over Prince Harry's mixed race fiancée. Cheddar Man is the name given to the oldest complete skeleton found in Britain; researchers say he had dark skin and dark hair. The cruel post, which was captioned: "Honey, does this tie make my face look pale", was branded as "sick" by Patrick, who penned a lengthy tweet against the comment. "Don't go anywhere near MM - she's got more power, strength, honor and compassion in her fingernail than you'll ever know in this lifetime".

'Way above your weight class'.

Adams and Markle worked together on the legal drama "Suits" for seven seasons.

Adams and Markle have been notably supportive of one another, even before her engagement to Prince Harry brought her under increased scrutiny.

Nehlen refused to take down the photo amidst outrage from the public.

Nehlen is now running against US House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan for the congressional primaries in Wisconsin.

The Republican Party politician, who is a candidate for a seat in the Congress, posted an image of Markle with the Cheddar Man pasted over her face.

The right-wing website Breitbart, which deployed reporters to cover Nehlen's congressional bid in 2016, denounced him in December following his anti-Semitic tweets.

Nehlen "has spent months curating an image of a sometimes ironic, but most certainly honest, white nationalist willing to say things meant to push populist nationalism into the discourse", writes the Southern Poverty Law Center. As for the recent racial comment about the actress, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace has declined to comment.

The actor has been very supportive of his former co-star since news of her engagement to Prince Harry was announced a year ago, and that's not stopping anytime soon - particularly when it comes to online trolls.

Fans, however, will get to watch their characters, Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, get married in the season 7 finale.
