The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical.
The building collapse incident today comes barely a week after two dilapidated buildings in the city, located in Yeshwanthpur and Jayanagar localities, tilted to one side.
"We are concentrating on the rescue operation".
While the ground and first floor of the building situated in Kasavanahalli near the IT hub of Sarjapur road caved in. "There are still some trapped under the debris", Mayor Sampath Raj was quoted by local news portal The News Minute as saying. "Six people who were rescued have been admitted to a private hospital nearby", DCP Abdul Ahad told TNM.
Raj also said that though the under-construction building was five-storeyed, the builders were only sanctioned to build three storeys. As per the Bengaluru Mayor, a permission for the three- storey building has been granted. "Rescue efforts by Fire Force and NDRF on".
Police and State Disaster Relief Force personnel are on the site rescuing those trapped.
The building has been under construction for six years.
In October 2017, a two-storey house collapsed in Bengaluru's Ejipura.
At least three construction workers were killed and many others feared trapped after an under construction building collapsed in Karnataka's Kasuvanahalli.
