But now that Kate sat down for an interview with Time, she made a decision to reveal in detail her own experience with being sexually harassed when she was just starting in the modeling industry. "After I pushed him away, he said, 'I'm making sure they're real, '" Kate alleged in her Time interview.

Empowered by the #MeToo movement, Kate Upton broke her silence and detailed the sexual harassment she endured from Guess cofounder Paul Marciano in the duration of her time modeling for the popular brand.

Upton alleged that Marciano continued to touch her inappropriately by grabbing her body parts, including her neck, arms, breasts, and shoulders, and pulling her closer to him. He eventually asked her to leave after calling her a "fat pig".

Marciano has denied all the allegations, and actually lashed out at Kate Upton with claims that she was bitter over being fired for "looking awful".

Finally in 2011, she was sacked yet again from a Guess shoot when Marciano had reportedly said, "Get that fat pig off my set". "I felt like she saved me by pulling me away from him and jokingly walking me to the elevator, saying, 'Well if I'm not going, Kate's not going, '" Upton said. I have never been alone with Kate Upton. "Nor would I ever refer to a Guess model in such a derogatory manner", he said. "At one point he forcibly grabbed the back of my head so that I could not move and started kissing my face and my neck", she added. At the same time, I will not allow others to defame me and tarnish my reputation.

Another model, Miranda Vee, has accused Marciano of "passing her on" to Mohamed Hadid, the father of models Bella and Gigi. "I was extremely shaken, surprised and scared", she said.

Upton, who has since gone on to wild success with Sports Illustrated, said Marciano's alleged assault nearly forced her to quit modeling and "took a huge toll on my confidence and self-worth". After denying him, she was sacked from the Guess shoot, she told Time.

Upton says that because of the experience, she wanted to quit modeling. So I just chose to wiggle away, ' Upton shared. I was devastated, especially because at this point in time no one from Guess had even seen me'.

"The next day, I learned that I had been fired from the shoot". She claimed that as soon as she walked in to meet Marciano, he went up to her and started playing with her breasts.

Guess offered her another campaign in 2012 for $400,000, which she declined.

"(Marciano) said I was "disgusting" and started telling people how unprofessional I was by spreading rumors that I was drunk on set and partying every night, which of course I wasn't. Fashion photographer Yu Tsai has corroborated Upton's allegations. She told Time she blamed herself and wondered, "How much of myself am I required to sacrifice?" I started slumping my shoulders to hide my breast size, wearing baggy clothes, started despising my own body'. I am sick of being expected to laugh off aggressive advances and accept the power imbalances. Paul used his power to make me feel insecure and powerless, but I am not going to let him intimidate me anymore.

Following the publication of the interview, Marciano has denied Upton's claims in a statement to Time, labelling them "preposterous" and "absolutely false".
