Considering the unprecedented enormity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the ambitious shared universe of films from the Disney-owned Marvel Studios, it's weird to think back to the comparatively quaint movie endeavor with which it launched, 2008's original Iron Man.
In honor of MCU's 10 anniversary celebration, Marvel has released an epic "class photo" and special behind-the-scenes video of an instantly iconic photo shoot that happened in October, bringing all the Hollywood stars who've ever appeared in its blockbusters together in the same room for the first time.
Marvel also released video footage of the day (above), which follows the stars as they chat with MCU head Kevin Feige, shake hands with Stan Lee, and basically just geek out.
As part of the yearlong celebration, Marvel has launched a "10-Year Sweepstakes" for fans to take part on social media over a five-week period from February 8 to March 15, with each week featuring a different Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
Hopefully, with more movies coming in, we could see a change in the formula for Marvel.
When something like the Marvel Cinematic Universe turns 10, you know it deserves a big party. Each week, a drawing will take place and a victor will be selected.
Marvel Studios is holding special Instagram/Twitter sweepstakes to celebrate the decade-long accomplishment, with prizes including a trip to the Avengers: Infinity War premiere and a Marvel Studios tour.
And the class photo was only the beginning, over the next five weeks, Marvel will be feting itself in many ways, and using the opportunity to reach out to fans old and new to keep the cash machine going.
