Moto Z2 Force: Motorola's 'ShatterShield' technology explained

Even though the Moto Z2 Force was globally announced a year ago, it was not launched in India. Apart from Moto X 5, new Motorola Moto G 6, G 6 Plus and G 6 Play will also be launched. The fingerprint scanner is embedded into the home button on the front.

Where the Moto Z2 Force might fall behind the design department, it makes it up in functionality.

Moto Z2 Force (unlocked variant) was launched at $850 (Rs 54,300 approx) in the United States previous year.

The Moto X 5 will feature a 5.9 inch display screen while the G6 series which are set to launch together with Moto X will feature a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display which used Gorilla Glass 3. It carries support for Quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and bears an aspect ratio of 16:9. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor, paired with 6GB RAM. It has an internal storage of 64 GB. The phone comes with 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). The 2,730mAh battery fuels the smartphone. More features include phase detection autofocus, laser auto-focus, and dual-tone flash.

In terms of photography, the Z2 Force sports a 12MP dual rear camera setup with f/2.0 aperture, where one sensor captures images in monochrome for enhanced details and the other one captures in normal colours. On the front is a 5-megapixel sensor, with f/2.2 aperture, an 85-degree wide angle lens, and LED flash. However, the older MotoMods are also compatible with the new Moto Z2 Force.

Since it is a MotoMod accessory, it can be attached to the rear of the phone. The Moto Z2 Force and OnePlus 5T run close to stock Android OS while the Mi Mix 2 comes with MIUI 9 on top. It offers all the connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port and NFC, said TelecomTalk. As a limited period offer, Motorola will be bundling along the Moto TurboPower mod with the smartphone, which adds an additional 3490mAh battery capacity. In India, the Moto Z2 Force will likely be available on Amazon and Flipkart as well as Moto Hub stores across India. With that said, the SD835 inside the Moto Z2 Force is capable enough to meet up with almost everything you throw at its; starting from heavy gaming to multitasking. Later, it will be also available at Motorola's other offline retailing partners.
