Xiaomi will selling both Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5 on February 22. Both the smartphones will be available from company's official store, Flipkart and Mi Home retail Stores. The Redmi Note 5 smartphone is the India Variant of Redmi 5 plus smartphone while the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone is the newer one.
The price of the Redmi Note 5 is especially reasonable, compared to the Redmi Note 4 which is now priced at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. Looking at the specs, the Redmi Note 5 is quite identical to the Redmi 5 Plus which has gone on sale in Malaysia.
The biggest features of the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone is its price, the phone comes with high-end specifications at a low price. "Following the current trend, it gets a 5.99" FullHD+ display in an 18:9 display aspect ratio. While both the processors are very powerful, comparing them both would put the Redmi Note 5 Pro slightly ahead in the race when it comes to performance and efficiency.
The phone uses a fingerprint sensor for user authentication. Not just that, it also features a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 7 megapixel front camera - all this at a price that starts at under Rs. 10,000. Both the devices come with front-facing LED flash to light up the boring images in low light conditions.
Connectivity options on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB. Powering the Redmi Note 5 Pro is a 4,000mAh battery but it still charges via MicroUSB.
The dual-SIM Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, like the Redmi Note 5, runs MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat. The Redmi Note 5 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with the Adreno 506 graphics while the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with the newer and faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset while retaining the same Adreno 506 GPU. It is claimed to be the first device in the world with the Snapdragon 636 SoC, and makes it the "fastest Redmi Note ever" with an AnTuTu score of 109,692. With him was the announcement of the Redmi Note 5 Pro - more advanced versions, both models are preparing for the global release. The dual rear camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash module.
In terms of camera, it has a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and dual-tone LED flash, and a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle view of field. On top of that, the Redmi Note 5 Pro will also support Face Unlock via an OTA update that will be pushed sometime in March.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro will be sold in four colour options - black, gold, light blue, and rose gold.
