Activision puts an end to the leaks by announcing Black Ops 4

After a couple of speculations and weird title design it is now official (kind of at least) that the next Call of Duty game for 2018 will be Black Ops 4.

Usually, the Call Of Duty series releases around the start of November, but moving to October 12th clearly is created to stay away from the 26th October release of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The worldwide release of the game is set for October 12. Kotaku has reported recently that the title of the next Call of Duty would be Black Ops IIII and the release date was pretty sooner than what we had expected. The teaser also hints at the fan-favourite "Zombies" mode. The Zombies modes have been some of the most popular for the franchise over the past few game releases, so it makes sense that Treyarch would deliver another one to fans who have stuck with the franchise the last few years.

Activision said that a full community reveal will take place on Thursday, May 17.

No news on whether Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on Nintendo Switch as of yet. As Forbes points out, this is the first time since Call of Duty 2 in 2005 that a Call of Duty game is being released in October. Rockstar's famous cowboy title Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing on October 26th, bringing some competition to CoD's annual sales.

The latest entry in the long-running first-person shooter series will be shown off during a community reveal event now scheduled for May 17.

We will keep an eye on this title and let you guys know when we hear something from Activision.
