Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is coming on October 12

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is official. Much snickering has been made online about the logo, which leaked out a few days ago and says Black Ops IIII, not Black Ops IV.

James Harden was one of the first to express his excitement for the game's announcement, sharing his enthusiasm on both Twitter and Instagram.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was revealed today in a teaser trailer on the Call of Duty YouTube channel.

Earlier in the week, images from Gamestop's internal database found their way to Call of Duty fan site, Charlie Intel.

Activision will release a new "Call of Duty: Block Ops" installment this fall, with a Community Reveal event scheduled for May.

In a recent press release, Activision shows it's extremely confident in Treyarch's new Black Ops game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches worldwide on October 12th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

It certainly appears like the game will also be available on but that has not actually been confirmed as of yet. It's an interesting way to differentiate the franchise's step back in time with last year's Call Of Duty WWII, of course, but how will it be used? Treyarch has not revealed where in the timeline this game is set yet, as the ending of Black Ops 3 does not exactly setup a clear continuation. This same font was not used for Black Ops II and Black Ops III.

An October release date for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 means that it will be released earlier than past entries in the franchise.
