The update is now being rolled out to PS4 systems and weighs in at roughly 460MB.
Most interestingly, PS4 Pro can have access to Supersampling antialiasing when their console is attached to 2K or lower resolution TV screens (the option is in the "Sound and Screen" settings), and all the users can now change logos - team logo and team cover image, image for the message group - and home backgrounds with their custom images grabbed from a USB device. Other updates include a family manager that allows a parent or guardian to monitor how much time their child spends logged into the PS4 and to set restrictions. Playtime can even be set to vary depending on the day of the week, for example you could allow your child to play for two hours between 4-7pm during the week and then for 4 hours between 8am-8pm on the weekend.
In addition to those features, players can also now customize their wallpapers with their own uploaded images.
Library improvements make it easy to create folders and sort your apps and games and also hide stuff that you don't need to see.
With the launch of 5.50, you'll be able to access custom friends' lists directly from the Quick Menu. Watch below to see some of the women who are involved in every aspect of PlayStation games, from art and sound design to programming and community management. It's a simple as pressing the Options button on the highlighted game and selecting the option to hide the game. Certain games already have "supersampling" benefits as part of their "PS4 Pro Enhanced" feature set, but this new mode can enhance the experience for those games that don't already have the feature.
You can also extend or shorten your child's play time on the day they play. You can do this with any image on a USB device. If you're using Spotify on PlayStation Music, the "square" button will serve as the shortcut for volume control.
Previously, if you had a PS4 Pro connected to a 1080p display, the console would set the internal render to 1080p even if the game was capable of higher resolutions.
While PSN Name Change isn't included in this update, Sony is planning to release this feature sometime before the end of this year.
