Krishnan defeated Cameroon's Wilfried Dieudonne 5-0 in the men's 75 kg category.

It was a fruitful day for Team Nigeria as they concluded events on Saturday with one gold, three silver and one bronze medals but the team dropped from the eighth position they held on Friday.

Kidambi beat Lee as he helped India win the mixed team title and had the better of the first game in the singles final until the Malaysian veteran found his touch. Amit looked visibly exhausted in the second and third round after dominating the first round.

Amid all this fine showing, there was heart-break though as Amit Panghal lost out to Galal Yafai of England in the men's 52kg which looked good to go either way.

Solanki dominated most of the battle against Northern Ireland's Brendan Irvine and won by a split 4:1 verdict. Now, more than four decades later, they have victory number two.

- 16-year-old teenage Manu Bhaker won the gold medal in the women's 10m air pistol event. He is now employed with the Indian Army.

The legend of M C Mary Kom (48kg) grew larger as she became the first Indian woman boxer to claim a Commonwealth Games gold, joined by Gaurav Solanki (52kg) in the top-finishers' group after the first set of finals evn as India won seven gold medals here on Saturday.

Faith Obazuaye also won another medal in women's tennis.

Naman Tanwar (91kg) and Manoj Kumar (69kg) had settled for bronze medals after semifinal losses.
