I'd give myself 11 out of 10 - Allardyce irate over Everton survey

According to the BBC's Phil McNulty, Everton have asked fans to rate Allardyce's performance from zero-to-10 as part of a survey meant to gauge how connected supporters feel with the club.

"The director of marketing and communications has clearly slipped up", Allardyce said. Our Everton blogger gave him 1/10 and, with that in mind, we asked Adam Hurrey the same question about every manager in the Premier League.

"Our director of marketing does not have a great understanding of football and how football works because he is into marketing". And has allowed you to write some attractive headlines.

"He must have thought it was the right thing to do, but everyone else including my department hasn't and even the chairman who I spoke to last night".

Allardyce added that he had received an apology from Everton chairman Bill Kenwright. That's it. Let's move on.

The survey naturally raised eyebrows and Allardyce, despite insisting "it hasn't made any difference to me", admits the club had made an error.

"The only reason I am at Everton is because the team wasn't good enough before I got here - that was the opinion of the board".

Asked how he would rate himself, Allardyce jokingly told the reporter to "p*** off", before replying "11".

"Until somebody rings me up and says "Sam, you're not wanted anymore" then I'll hold my hands up and say 'fine, if that's how you feel' but I'd be extremely disappointed if that was the case".

'If that happened, I'd be more than disappointed'.
