Jio Announces Apple Watch Series 3 Online Bookings, Special Service

The pre-registration for Apple Watch Series 3 begins on the 4th of May and it goes on sale on the 14th of May via all the major Apple authorised sellers across the country.

The new Apple Watch Series 3 has an improved heart rate sensor and a SIM card slot. Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of conglomerate Reliance Industries, also announced a facility that will enable its subscribers to use the same Jio number on the iPhone as well as the AppleWatch Series 3 Cellular. Airtel confirms that the cellular services on the watch to be free for Airtel postpaid customers on an Airtel My Plan or Infinity Plan. Airtel will be selling this Apple smartwatch through its website, whereas Reliance Jio will sell the smartwatch through its website, Reliance Digital as well as Jio Store.

The key aspect of the Watch Series 3 is that the company, in a bid to keep the compact structure of the device, developed its own electronic SIM (one-hundredth the size of a traditional SIM) and integrated it right into it. Guess what? Airtel would allow the user to share unlimited call and data of the iPhone post-paid plan with Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular).

The Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE support is finally making its way to India through India's two leading telecom operators Airtel and Reliance Jio. It will be available for purchase, across all above mentioned outlets, starting May 11.

Speaking about other details, the pre-booking of the Apple Watch Series 3 on Jio stores will start on May 4 and for the users who pre-book the Watch with a Jio connection will receive the watch on priority because the stocks of the Watch Series 3 Cellular version will be pretty limited initially.

The Reliance Jio webpage now shows Error 404 and is expected to go live soon. Apple Series 3 in 38mm for non-cellular starts at Rs 32,380, while the Watch Series 3 Global Positioning System in 42 mm size starts at Rs 34,410 in India.
