The premise implies an uninspired, mediocre B-movie, but the cast implies the exact opposite.
Hotel Artemis tells the story of a members-only hospital for criminals.
Did you love John Wick, but maybe wished it focused nearly exclusively on the Continental Hotel? These various elements all tease a film that is part Die Hard, part John Wick and part Dredd. There is something tongue-in-cheek about the whole thing, and I'm curious how this will turn out.
Given the fact that Hotel Artemis seems to have minority leads rampant in the cast from top to bottom, don't be surprised if Hollywood attempts to slather up the mallet of "Progressive" values and beat it over the head of the audience like CNN beats its audience over the head with fake news.
Jeff Goldblum Zachary Quinto and Jodie Foster star in ‘Hotel Artemis
Jodie Foster stars as the hospital's owner, backed up by Dave Bautista as a nurse, and Sofia Boutella as... some kind of glamorous hospital assassin?
If you're looking for a hotel where you can kick back, relax, and have a bullet fished out of your soft tissue, look no further than director Drew Pearce's Hotel Artemis. Pearce went on to direct the Marvel One-Shot All Hail the King, and Hotel Artemis marks his ambitious feature debut as a filmmaker.
Written and directed by Iron Man 3 co-writer Drew Pearce, Hotel Artemis looks stylish and very fun.
Hotel Artemis opens in US theaters on Friday, June 8. For all the biggest movies hitting this year, check out our release schedule.
