The film, which was incepted 15 years ago by Karan Johar for his dad Yash Johar will be released a year from now on April 19, 2019. The actress, who stepped in for the late Sridevi in the film, arrived on the sets for a look test after finishing the shoot for Indra Kumar's upcoming comedy, Total Dhamaal. The movie is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and you all are going to love the long star cast of the movie. This is surely going to be an ambitious project, because there are hardly any big ensemble movies in Bollywood, and with prestigious stars like Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt, this is going to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year. And that's how Madhuri Dixit-Nene came on board. A germ of an idea that I had almost 15 years ago.a film that was in a pre production stage helmed by my father.am now proud to Pass it onto the extremely capable and visionary hands of our director Abhishek Varman. The rumoured lovebirds, who were last seen in Mahaanta, will now work together in Karan Johar's Kalank. "A beautifully-structured story by Shibani Bathija and an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek himself".

Several reports also suggest that the Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit episode has been chopped off from his biopic that casts Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role and has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Varun Dhawan who is collaborating with Karan Johar for the fourth time shared a photograph of the filmmaker with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The sets are breathtaking. On April 18, 2018, Kalank begins its journey.

Sonakshi and Aditya were also present on sets. The project will mark the collaboration of Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film will be produced by Karan, Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta.
