Karnataka: BJP chief Amit Shah holds impressive road show near Bengaluru

Now, as the state goes to polls on May 12, the Congress can not benefit from anti-incumbency because BJP is not in power; the mining controversy is dead; Yeddyurappa and Sriramulu have returned to the BJP.

In the advertisement, BJP is taking on Congress, which is now in power; callung Karnataka government as insensitive over "rapes, murders and lawlessness". Shah was referring to his two-day visit to Karnataka that started on 12 April.

Sources in the BJP said that it was not clear whether Rakesh would join the party but Awdhesh was set to join the Saffron fold along with Dinesh.

"Congress fooled people in the name of development", Shah said at the rally. "We will develop it as an ideal constituency and a model district", he added.

The poster in the backdrop of the dais had pictures of Amit Shah, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP Chief Mahendra Nath Pandey but there was no mention of PM Modi at all, rather unusual when it came to political event like this in Congress stronghold.

Their political influence within the BJP seemed to have waned after the alleged scam erupted but it appears that they have made a comeback with the party rewarding them and their associates with tickets in a region they wield considerable influence.

He said Rae Bareli voted for top Congress leaders but had not witnessed development since Independence.

"Raebareli's public sent several big leaders to Delhi but there was no development here", Shah said.

"This is unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi questions Prime Minister Modi but when people of Amethi ask him about "vikas", he has no answer".

Singh is a powerful political family as his brother Rakesh Singh is an MLA while another brother Awdhesh Singh is Chairman of Rae Bareli Distri Panchayat.

"The BJP government in the state under Adityanath is working on the 'sankalp' (pledge) of ensuring availability of electricity and water supply and construction of better roads in the village". Half a dozen ministers have also come along with Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath.
