Man arrested for stealing vehicle with 9-year-old in back seat


Officers who responded to reports of the incident were able to find and stop the auto, arresting Guillermo Perez, 29, and Walter Ramirez, 19.

Officers on the scene were able to get fingerprints from the side window.

The driver had just led troopers on a short chase, which started around 3 a.m. Monday when he refused to pull over for a traffic stop.

The bartender reportedly said she immediately followed the then-unidentified man outside, telling him he wasn't allowed to leave the bar with alcohol.

Officers said he struggled when they tried to arrest him.

Interestingly, the same police officer was arrested in another sting operation on 17th November 2017 and charged before Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on 29th November 2017.

Instead of stopping, police say he put his truck in reverse and drove away "at a high rate of speed".

On April 14, 2018 at approximately 1230 hours, Odessa Police responded to 12th and Alleghaney in reference to shots being fired.

At about 10.20am on Friday, a patrol tried to stop a auto on Swift St, Northfield, but the vehicle did not stop and police gave chase for a short distance before terminating the pursuit.

The officer was taken to the Integrity Centre for interrogation before facing fresh charges.

The man's vehicle was removed and the key has been confiscated by police.
