Actually, the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh are to be held later this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a pair of slippers to a tribal woman in Bijapur district in Indian state of Chhattisgarh during a public event on Saturday.
The prime minister congratulated the Bijapur district administration, which is among the most backward 115 districts in the country, for improving its development statistics in the last three months.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today dedicated and laid foundation stones for plethora of development works. While launching the scheme he said, "In around 1.5 lakh villages, sub centres and primary health centres will be developed as Health and Wellness centres". Under this scheme, 1.5 lakh Health and Wellness Centres will bring health care system closer to the homes of people.
According to Niti Aayog CEO, Prime Minister Modi will be the first prime minister to visit tribal district Bijapur.The Prime Minister will be visiting Bijapur district's Jangala Development Hub, situated in a panchayat that has emerged as a model panchayat. He inaugurated a bank branch at Jangla and distributed loan sanction letters under the Mudra Scheme to select beneficiaries. "He will also interact with Rural Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) employees", the statement said. Modi also flagged off a train on newly-built 17-km tracks between Gudum and Bhanupratappur via video conferencing.in the presence of Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh. "The objective of Ayushman Bharat scheme is to build a healthy, efficient and satisfied new India", he added.
The Prime Minister said that the Ayushman Bharat scheme will go a long way in ending social imbalance, and ensuring social justice in the country. The districts are Bijapur, Narayanpur, Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Sukma and Dantewada.
The Prime Minister asserted that the initiatives and decisions taken by the Union Government indicate its commitment to the welfare of the poor and weaker sections of society.
The Prime Minister asserted that people's participation is the strength of the Government, which will help in the creation of New India by 2022.
