Yup, that's right, Yo Suzuki's much beloved kung-fu action-adventure games will land on PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2018.
It has been a few years since Shenmue 3 was first funded on Kickstarter, and while news has been slim, we did hear back in January that we should expect a release later this year. The Shenmue collection will receive both a physical and digital release.
In addition to pricing info, Koralik also squashed a rumor that the time skip feature from Shenmue 2 would be added to the original game in the remaster.
Sega is describing the re-release as the "definitive version" and promises the "best Shenmue experience to date". Pre-orders for the re-release are already live, but a final release date has yet to be announced. And while they will boast some improvements, these are not full on HD remakes or remasters. These revolutionary masterpieces deliver a gripping story of retribution as Ryo Hazuki sets out to avenge his father's death and attempts to unravel the secrets behind a mysterious artefact known as the Dragon Mirror.
The video below is the announcement trailer for "Shenmue " 1 and 2, which Sega has just announced to be coming out later this year as a two-in-one bundle. The re-releases will come with scalable resolutions, classic and revamped control schemes, an updated interface, graphics options on PC and the ability to switch between the Japanese and English voiceovers.
