'Wheel of Fortune' contestant loses $7000 with embarrassing mispronunciation

Earlier this year, another "Wheel of Fortune" contestant had a puzzle reading, "A Streetcar Na_ed Desire". The board read "Flamenco dance lessons", but the contestant, named Jonny, pronounced the word as "flamingo", which cost him $7,100, according to CNN.

On Monday night, a "Wheel of Fortune" contestant lost thousands of dollars for mispronouncing a word.

While Jonny managed to get every letter on the board right, he slipped up when he went to read out the whole phrase.

Even a contestant termed "Jonny" could have guessed he would readily take the cash household that will have a day at Europe.

As Sajak continued on with the show, Jonny could be seen muttering to himself, perhaps trying out different pronunciations of "flamingo" and "flamenco".

Pat Sajak was frozen, and after a long pause he said Jonny was wrong, and passed to the next competitor.

His opponent Ashley then read the answer correctly and won the prize.

"What we all heard was - and I know you didn't mean to say it - but, you gave us a "G" instead of a 'C, '" Sajak explained.

Now it was time to solve the puzzle.
