At this year's CW upfront presentation, Stephen Amell, the Green Arrow himself, announced that Batwoman will be introduced in the next big Arrowverse crossover in the fall. "For the very first time appearing, we'll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific".
The CW's annual crossover, and Batwoman's first appearance in a movie or television show, is scheduled to air this December. "I need to leave right now and start filming it!"
Batwoman's addition also means that the Arrowverse will expand to include Gotham City, something many fans have been dying to see. "This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event", Pedowitz promised. When DC Comics released its New 52 comics, Batwoman got the reimagining treatment; she's now known as Kate Kane, and is a Jewish lesbian with romantic connections to Maggie Sawyer (who's actually played by Floriana Lima on Arrow). Batwoman also showed up in the direct-to-video animated films Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, where she was voiced by Kyra Sedgwick, and Batman: Bad Blood, this time voiced by Yvonne Strahovski.
Stephen Amell takes the stage at at the CW Upronts in New York City. Rather than a love interest of Batman, though, as she had been portrayed in the past, this incarnation of the character was Bruce Wayne's cousin, who's inspired by the Caped Crusader after witnessing him in action.
Let the speculation begin as to which version of Batwoman they're going to go with for the Arrowverse.
Naturally, more info concerning this fall's Arrowverse crossover will drop between now and December, and we'll be here to update you whenever something new surfaces.
