Britain's Prince Harry marries U.S. actress Meghan Markle at Windsor

Harry was scarred by his mother Diana's death in a Paris auto crash in 1997 when he was just 12, and he had to mourn in the full glare of the world's media. Celebrity guests at the wedding included Oprah, George and Amal Clooney, Idris Elba, Victoria and David Beckham and Serena Williams.

And Princess Beatrice looked nice, though we miss her ornate royal wedding hat of yore.

Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, attended with his wife Countess Spencer.

The influence of Diana was also felt today at the wedding ceremony when her sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, delivered the reading.

Harry put on a fearless face and his best smile when arriving at the Chapel with his best man, Prince William, but once inside and waiting for his lovely bride, he was clearly feeling the nerves!

After the procession, Queen Elizabeth gave a lunch reception inside Windsor Castle for the 600 guests.

The late Princess Diana was honored and there in spirit at the wedding of her son Harry, and his bride, Meghan Markle, in St. George's Chapel today.

The world was watching the couple at the altar, but even Harry on his wedding day is still Harry.

The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton (wearing ivory dress) arrives with the flower girls and page boys at St. George's Chapel. Meghan thus became the first royal bride to walk down (part of) the aisle herself in United Kingdom history. Everyone is waiting to see what Markle wears, which designer she has chosen for her wedding gown.

Markle rode with her mother Doria Ragland in a vintage Rolls Royce from the Cliveden House Hotel, about 10 miles from Windsor Castle.

Her wedding dress was designed by Clare Waight Keller of French fashion house Givenchy.

Elizabeth famously described 1992 as an "annus horribilis" (horrible year) after three of her four children's marriages failed, including Charles' marriage to Diana, and part of Windsor Castle was badly damaged by fire. Her father, Thomas Markle, stayed at home in Mexico due to heart problems. A passionate address given by Bishop Michael Bruce Curry from Chicago resonated with many viewers on social media. One of the biggest changes were to the vows Markle took. The wedding was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. Performers during the ceremony included The Kingdom Choir and 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.

Prince Harry did not try to hide his emotions at the altar on Saturday morning, wiping away tears as he married Meghan Markle.
