They're versatile. So even though they lost two really good players, they're not lacking for talent. As the best player in the National Basketball Association, he will have his pick of almost every team in the league pending cap space. I think Stevens figures out a way to limit James with his variety of multiple versatile defenders, or at least make him less efficient, and the Celtics beat the Cavaliers in seven games.
While there's nothing wrong with exuding confidence, it's hard to find any numbers that would back up that argument as he gets prepared to battle the NBA's gold standard. Athletic. He's physical. He's just unstoppable. He can stay in front of James, and he can absorb the hefty blow James can administer with his shoulder in the post.
Coach Brad Stevens said this group has never stopped playing together despite all the challenges they've faced. "Totally a collective effort".
"I always hoped we would get to a point where if things don't go our way, we're still extremely competitive because we have a kind of foundation in place", he said.
And even Morris will happily admit he can't do it alone.
Morris said: "My size". The most valuable thing Smith can do on the floor is create space for James and if he continues his hot shooting, the Celtics' defense cannot divert attention to James off Smith.
Meanwhile, the Celtics, armed with Irving, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, and rookie sensation Jayson Tatum, were winners of 16 consecutive games and cruising along as the best team in the East despite Hayward's injury.
That's a big advantage. They finished fourth during the regular season after coming off three straight Finals berths.
Secondly, Stevens, who is in fifth season as the Celtics' coach, did not win the award last year, nor has he ever won the coach of the year award recognized by the National Basketball Association, which is given annually by media covering the league. And there was no help.
I don't really see they're lacking at any position. "But just with me, Al (Horford), Terry, Jaylen, we've been here from that team from past year, just kind of letting guys know it's not going to be easy".
Morris was asked if James has the ability to break teams mentally. "I just think you gotta try things and kinda see how your team reacts to it". With as much respect as we have for IN, obviously, they took us to seven, I think defensively Boston is elite.
I would expect Mbah A Moute to get a lot of playing time off the bench against Kevin Durant as well.
The Celtics advance to the NBA's final four to face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second straight year for a berth in the finals. He seems relish going on the road, and he seems to relish in particular tearing out the hearts of Celtics fans. That was with Kyrie Irving still around, and after Cleveland turned their roster inside-out at the trade deadline.
LeBron James' free agency has been a topic of conversation for much of the season.
But James proved his postseason bona fides yet again, and the Celtics, thanks to the emergence of "Scary" Terry Rozier, also proved up to the task by eliminating the 76ers. "I just have to keep guys on track and hold guys accountable".
Redick averaged 17.1 points and shot 42 per cent from three-point range on a USD23 million, one-year deal.
