Federal Bureau of Investigation used secret program to gather info on Trump campaign

President Donald Trump on Thursday once again accused former President Barack Obama of performing clandestine spy operations during the 2016 presidential campaign. "Sorry to the Fake News Media and 'Haters, ' but that's the way it is!"

Of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, Mr Trump said: "Congratulations America, we are now into the second year of the greatest Witch Hunt in American History". A number of those charges were related to Russia's interference in the presidential election, but so far, none of them has extended to potential collusion between the Russian government and Trump associates. "It's not a "witch hunt" when some of the most senior members of the Trump campaign have been indicted". Fusion GPS ultimately contracted the work out to former MI-6 officer Christopher Steele, the author of the now-infamous (and partially verified) Trump-Russia dossier, which includes allegations of misconduct and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials.

If Comey was involved, said Giuliani, "he should be prosecuted..."

The report also revealed that a government informant met several times with Trump campaign officials, which validates a March 8, 2018 report from The Washington Post.

He added: "We're going to have to look into whether we can challenge the legitimacy of the entire investigation". "What people need to look here at is they didn't have a criminal predicate to investigate the people in the Trump campaign they did".

The top-secret intelligence source has been the subject of a showdown between key Trump allies in Congress and the Justice Department.

The House Intelligence Committee and the FBI have recently locked horns over attempts from the committee's Republicans for the bureau to disclose an unnamed source.
