James Harden's Reputation Hangs on His Response to Steph Curry's 'Haymaker'

Stephen Curry says he "blacked out" when he turned to the crowd after a layup, removed his mouthpiece and screamed "This is my (expletive) house" during the Golden State Warriors' 126-85 blowout win over the Houston Rockets in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals Sunday in Oakland, Calif. We played soft actually.

"You go to certain arenas and a guy gets a dunk and it's absurd", stated Green.

Harden's 20 points came on 7-for-16 shooting for the Rockets, who shot just 39.5 percent overall in the game and 32.4 percent (11-for-34) on 3-pointers.

While there were many differences between Games 1 and 2 in Houston, a key element of the Warriors' Game 2 loss was their spike to a whopping 15 turnovers. He is now 7 of 25 from long range-he made one in each of the first two games.

Curry finished with a game-high 35 points, outscoring Harden (20 points) and Chris Paul (13 points) combined, and as soon as the game was over, he knew the question about his celebration was coming.

The third quarter marked Curry's 10th career postseason frame with at least 17 points.

Those twin occurrences set the tone for Rockets rejuvenation that was repeated many more times the rest of the way and saw Houston exacting a 127-105 revenge that levelled the two the best-of-seven series going into Game 3 Friday at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

"To me, Golden State has all the pressure", D'Antoni said Monday, per Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post. The Rockets are one of the few teams in the National Basketball Association that can hold their own when shooting against the Warriors.

"Offensively, we didn't have any thrust, and they exploited it", Harden said. "We weren't as aggressive as we needed to be".

Davidson's Bob McKillop shepherded Steph Curry's All-American career in college and remains very close to the best player he has ever coached.

Asked what the Warriors had to do to keep rolling in Game 4, Curry answered, "Just do everything we didn't do in Game 2 and we should be in good shape".

"As a team, we played a lot better defense today, which I think got everybody more involved", Curry said.

Houston seemed to revert to its slow, methodical play of game one when they weren't dribbling the ball off their own feet. That summed up a 19-turnover performance for the Rockets, who had been pretty good at protecting the ball prior to Sunday night.
