She called on those who may know someone suffering from mental illness to stop enabling them by pretending everything is alright when it's obvious that it's not. One in 20 people live with a serious mental illness like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or severe depression.
"It's important for our community to raise awareness and really make sure that the people can break that stigma and have access to mental health services when they need them", said Goodnight.

The local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is handing out "Take Time Out" packages for their Mental Health Week which includes tea along with some mental health tips.
