As the Christian customary, Meghan's father was to walk her down the aisle on her D-day.

The job of getting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the church has gone to father and son Windsor Grey horses.

Kensington Palace reported Markle and her mother, Doria Ragland, are checking into the countryside retreat of the Cliveden House Hotel, famed for its role in the '60s-era The Profumo Affair which later became a 1989 movie called, Scandal, starring John Hurt and Joanne Whalley. The statement did not confirm or deny speculation surrounding his attendance. "Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion".

Flawless weather is expected Saturday when Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle marry, Britain's Met Office said Monday. He checked himself out of the hospital so that he can attend the wedding, but eventually decided not to go.

Then comes the news that he suffered a heart attack just seven days ago. The report also quotes Markle as saying that he was approached by the paparazzi to take the photos.

The reports of a possible no-show by Markle's father were splashed across the front pages of several British newspapers on Tuesday.

"I have to say I am entirely the culprit", Samantha said during her appearance on United Kingdom talk show Loose Women Monday. "It was not for money".

He was also due to meet the queen, her husband and the other senior members of the Windsor family this week.

Whether Thomas will change his mind and attend the royal wedding is still unknown, and it has yet to be revealed who will walk Meghan down the aisle. "I merely wanted him to be seen in a respectable light and that wasn't being done".

However, she did acknowledge that the situation has put Kensington Palace in an "awkward" situation, given that they had emailed the press just days earlier asking them to give Meghan's family privacy.

Thomas Markle was "spotted" reading up on Prince Harry and his daughter at an internet cafe near his home in Rosarito, Mexico.

The upcoming royal wedding is being drummed up not only in the U.K., but in the United States, as CNN rolls out biopics invoking the atmosphere that surrounded the wedding of Charles and Diana. Her half-sister is penning a petty tell-all, her half-brother said she's no Princess Diana and her estranged extended family is threatening to show up outside her wedding venue as commentators. "I don't think Meghan is going to be crying into her cornflakes about this - I'm sure she has much bigger things to think about at this time".

A Kensington Palace spokesman added that "She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this hard situation".

"Meghan has no relationship with her half-siblings, nor has she ever had one", the source says.

There was no independent confirmation that Mr Markle had been ill, however.
