HMD Global, the company that now holds the right to manufacture and sell Nokia phones, had scheduled a launch event in China last month on April 27th. This is the company's latest smartphone which features an edge-to-edge display (save for the lip at the bottom) and a notch at the top, although thankfully in this case it does seem to be smaller than some of the other models we've seen. In addition, HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia has implemented a dual rear camera module on the Nokia X6 for the first time. In China, the Nokia X6 will be available in three variants.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's recently launched Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, which also powers the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, among others. The storage can be expanded up to 256 GB using a microSD card.
On the camera front, there is a dual setup- 16-megapixel (RGB) sensor with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash + 8-megapixel (monochrome) sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
The Nokia X6 is powered by a 3,060mAh battery and comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. The Nokia X6 will come with glass back body and will be available in Blue, Black, Silver, and White color options.
The primary camera comprises of a dual camera setup with a 16 MP + 5 MP units with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) along with HDR and a bokeh mode. We are still a couple of years away from budget smartphones adopting the USB C port altogether but, this is a great step by HMD Global. It also includes an 8MP front-facing camera. It also offers the Bothie feature, letting users utilise both front and rear cameras simultaneously. The price of 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage variants is 1,699 Chinese yuan (around Rs 18,100). Pricing for the 4GB RAM+64GB ROM varinat is Yuan 1499 and the top variant with 6GB RAM+64GB ROM is priced at Yuan 1699. The dimensions of the handset are 147.2×70.98×7.99 millimeters. You also get a standard fingerprint sensor on the back. It includes WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac for connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS+GLONASS+Beidou as well for connectivity.
