With more than a year behind us of a Presidency that's made about as much sense as a Marx brothers movie, but nowhere near as amusing, our good Vice President Mike Pence wants us to believe it's time to "wrap up" the Mueller investigation into Russian collusion, "for the good of the country".
Pence's remarks echoed calls by President Trump and his lawyers, who have argued that there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation and that Mueller is now seeking to trap Trump into committing perjury about his actions related to the investigation.
MITCHELL: Do you think his investigation is a hoax? Our administration has provided over a million documents.
Pence said the White House has been cooperating with investigators for the a year ago. We fully cooperated in it, and in the interest of the country, I think it's time to wrap it up.
"But as they came down the stairs, the joy on their faces, their appreciation for the people of the United States, for their countrymen, for the president and, frankly, their gratitude to God was deeply moving", Pence said of their return to American soil.
"I think we have a very good chance of doing something very meaningful", Mr. Trump said of future talks with North Korea. "One year of Watergate is enough".
Pence told NBC News following the release of three Americans held by North Korea.
Reports suggest they were released only an hour before the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's departure.
