In recent news, GSC Game World has announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on social media.
An official website popped up early this morning with little more than a title and a date of "2021".
Websites are easy to fake, but the GSC Game World Facebook page contains a link to the site, as does the GSC website, which also states explicitly that "currently [the] company is developing Stalker 2". The post says nothing more about the upcoming sequel or game, but you can read it over right here if you want to.
There's bugger all info available at the moment, but fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. can rejoice: you're getting a sequel.
Do you remember the game Stalker? The bad news is that it's not going to happen anytime soon: The Stalker 2 site now indicates that it'll be out in 2021. A new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is like a Russian Half-Life 3.
CEO of GSC Game World Sergei Grigorovich announced in Facebook that is now being developed computer game S. T.
Later, In 2012 GSC Game World stated that the game was "currently in development" without a release date. There's no telling if the devs will be rocking an updated X-Ray 1.6 (after S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat's X-Ray 1.5) or if the devs will be powering S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on something else entirely.
