Pairings for the fourth annual Gavitt Tipoff Games were announced Tuesday afternoon. Television coverage of the Gavitt Tipoff Games will be provided by either FS1 or BTN.

It's hard to believe it was only last month in which the Villanova Wildcats claimed their second NCAA title in three seasons after a thrilling 79-62 win over the Michigan Wolverines.

The game is part of the annual series featuring teams from the Big Ten and Big East, it's set for November 13 at State Farm Center. However, the Big Ten has a similar problem with the exclusions of schools such as Michigan State and Maryland, both of whom should be top-25 teams.

The Blue Demons ended their 2017-18 season in the opening game of the Big East Tournament, posting an 11-20 overall record and 4-14 mark in league play. The Nov. 14 matchups include Marquette at IN and Seton Hall at Nebraska as well as the Michigan-Villanova game.

Among the 16 participating schools, six played in the NCAA Tournament a year ago and three played in the NIT. Wisconsin and Xavier met in last year's Gavitt Games when the Musketeers defeated the Badgers on the road.

The Gavitt Tip-off Games is part of the Huskers' non-conference slate which will also feature two games in Kansas City for the Hall of Fame Classic (Texas Tech, USC and Missouri State), a ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup (opponent and location TBD) as well as the annual matchup with Creighton.

Scheduled through 2022, the Gavitt Tipoff Games will be played on consecutive days early in the college basketball season. The event is named in honor of Big East founder Dave Gavitt.
