Anthony Martial wants to leave, claims agent

Martial's agent dropped a bombshell on Wednesday night when he confirmed that the 22-year-old was disillusioned with life at Old Trafford and would look to leave the club this summer.

Martial's agent told RMC Sport "After looking at all the possibilities and different factors, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United".

"There are many reasons, for now it is too early to discuss it. Anthony will talk soon to go through that". I think that when Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world it must be remembered, does not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is that it does not really want to make him an important player in the team.

His woes at Manchester United cost him a place in the World Cup squad for France this summer, who are heading to Russian Federation looking to take back football's most coveted trophy.

I think that when Man United, who are the most powerful club, can not come to an agreement after eight months it is because they really don't want to make him a key player. This is why the decision has come. "However, it is important to remember that he is under contract, Man United have the last word and we will respect the club's decision". Without the unconditional support of the fans he would have already asked to leave United.

"But he got hooked and showed great professionalism and was successful".

When given the opportunity, Martial has shown on several occasions that he's capable of feats of brilliance but he's had to settle for a bit-part role at Old Trafford in recent seasons and the January arrival of Alexis Sanchez did nothing to remedy that problem.

"Everyone will have their opinion but I think he needs to resume his career".

Italian champions Juventus have also been mentioned in reports tying Martial to a move away from United.

He added that should the forward be allowed to leave he expected interest in him to be high, with Tottenham and Chelsea among the clubs linked with him.
