Warner Bros. has released an unsettling first trailer for "The Nun", with the demonic sister from "The Conjuring 2" returning to terrorize Taissa Farmiga's novitiate at a remote convent. Bonnie Aarons reprises the Valek role, and a young nun (Taissa Farmiga, sister to Vera, who played Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring movies), who has had visions of Valek, travels to an abbey with a haunted past and an unholy secret to be uncovered.
Universal Pictures and franchise creator James Wan are also reportedly looking to create a spinoff film based on the Crooked Man, who appeared in the last movie. The film is directed by Corin Hardy, best known as the indie horror director behind "The Hallow". Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear and Todd Williams are the executive producers.

The Nun is a spin-off of the second Conjuring film, the story itself takes place well before the events of the main two movies and the Annabelle films.
