Huawei’s new, long-lasting MediaPad tablets are available in the US

Huawei announced the MediaPad M5 tablets at MWC in February and then we took the M5 Pro for a test drive in March. The Huawei M Pen stylus has 4,096-level pressure sensitivity and lasts 50 days on a full charge.

All three Huawei MediaPad M5 variants come packing octa-core Kirin 960 processing power, as well as a hefty 4GB RAM, with 64GB internal storage space offered across the board, and identically sharp 2K QHD (2560 x 1600) screens with ClariVu technology for vivid colors and beautifully defined contrasts.

Many people, including me, primarily use a tablet for media consumption and this is one area where the Huawei MediaPad M5 excels.

These are also the "first tablets in the world to adopt a 2.5D curved glass display", which contributes to a design that's both elegant and practical, with a "high-quality" metal body and reinforced edges. The tablet is equipped with a fingerprint scanner, and while the 8.4-inch model sports a 5100mAh battery, a larger 7500mAh cell keeps the lights on for the 10.8-inch version. The price of the unit with the 8.4-inch display is $319 while the 10.8-inch model will set you back $359. The 8.4-inch tablet features dual speakers, while the 10.8-inch models have quad speakers.

It also has a pogo-pin connection that works with a sold-separately keyboard.
