Irish Sons of Anarchy star Alan O'Neill dies aged 47

Alan O'Neill has passed away at the age of 47. An autopsy is now pending.

His body was discovered by his partner in in the hallway of her Los Angeles home on Wednesday night. "My thoughts & prayers to you & to your family". No cause of death has been determined, though no foul play is suspected. I'll personally miss knowing Alan isn't sharing the planet with us any longer, despite the miles between L.A. and Dublin.

O'Neill played Hugh in the smash-hit series, Sons of Anarchy. "May he rest in peace", Walsh added. However, his acting career actually started in the '90s.

Seamus Power, who plays Dermot in the RTE soap, Tweeted: "So sad to hear of the passing of Alan O'Neill who played Keith in Fair City".

He made his debut on the episode The Mad King in the sixth season, and had a recurring role until the series' finale episode, Papa's Goods, in the seventh and final season.

He had roles in Undercovers, Inspector George Gently and Rebel Heart, as well as appearances in Strangers in the Night and Moore Street Masala. He also appeared in the United Kingdom crime drama Inspector George Gently in 2009. His most recent credits include the Captain in 2016's "Urge", in addition to his announced role as Pepper in the upcoming horror film "Charlie Lives: The Family's Return".
