Nabil Fekir to Liverpool

Lyon forward Nabil Fekir insists his knee is "super good" after his move to Liverpool broke down over a disagreement about his long-term fitness.

Liverpool's pursuit of Nabil Fekir has taken another surprise turn as his agent hinted the Frenchman could still join the Reds this summer.

As per the Daily Mail, Liverpool had agreed a £53m deal following lengthy negotiations with Lyon and Fekir was set to sign a five-year contract worth around £140,000-a-week after undergoing his medical in Paris shortly before he flew out to Russian Federation earlier this month.

"My knee is great", Fekir told a press conference on the speculation.

The 24-year-old's move to Liverpool was reported to have broken down after concerns arose regarding a knee injury sustained by the player earlier in his career.

We'll have to wait and see whether Liverpool reignite talks to sign Fekir but the player is now with the French squad at the World Cup finals so any potential deal will have to wait until their tournament is over. But I honestly feel like before my injury, ' said Fekir. "This is not the end of the story".

Fekir was also questioned on the possibility of a revived deal with Liverpool, but despite meeting club president Jean-Michel Aulas on Monday he stressed that "we did not at all discuss my situation at Lyon".

"You know I am here with France, I am happy, and I am not here to discuss my personal situation".

Fekir had an impressive season in Ligue 1 last season finishing with 18 goals and eight assists in 30 league appearances.
