Trump Wants Russia Back In G-7

Trump said on Friday that Russian Federation should have attended a Group of Seven summit in Canada over the weekend, an idea that even Moscow seemed to reject saying it was focused on other formats.

"I think, on trade, there is ... a way to progress all together", he told reporters after his meeting with Trump. That changed when Moscow moved to annex Crimea from Ukraine in March, when the other members of the Group declared the suspension of the G-8 format and return to the G-7.

"Based on Justin's false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!", the president posted on Twitter.

He also said he agreed with Trump on the need for a meeting between the leaders of Russian Federation and the United States.

Then, Trump and Macron met again on the sidelines of the summit Friday evening.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she finds President Donald Trump's tweet disavowing a common statement after the Group of Seven summit in Canada "sobering" and "a little depressing".

The two have bristled over trade and tariffs recently but appeared jovial after their meeting.

"Our relationship is very good".

The US has slapped a 25% tariff on imports of steel and 10% on aluminium from countries including the United Kingdom and the rest of the European Union. There must be a clear understanding between the leaders of the two nuclear superpowers before some mishap somewhere results in unimaginable catastrophe for both countries and for the whole world.

Trump claimed America had been forced to levy the metal tariffs as it has been exploited as the world's "piggy bank" under existing arrangements, but his counterparts were equally determined to protect "rules-based" worldwide trade.

And since our allies are the ones with whom we have the most significant ties - economic, military, cultural - they're most often the ones who wind up being the target of his ire as he tries to isolate the United States from the world.

His remarks follow a report that White House officials were working towards setting up a meeting. "Everyone agreed, including President Trump".

European Council President Donald Tusk, who will attend the meeting of EU leaders, said in the New York Times this week: "Europe must now do everything in its power to protect the trans-Atlantic bond, in spite of today's mood. And the population is of course much bigger - half of the planet", Putin said.

Trump said he had a list of 3,000 names for possible pardon consideration. He arrived behind schedule and planned an early leave from the G7 meeting Saturday morning for Singapore for his highly anticipated summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Pruitt, Trump said, "is doing a great job within the walls of the EPA".

"He was the one who let Crimea get away - that was during his administration", he said, adding, "Crimea was let go during the Obama administration and Obama can say all he wants, but he allowed Russian Federation to take Crimea".
