Appearing in front of the media after the bilateral talks with North Korean leader, Donald Trump said that the meeting with Kim Jong-un was 'better than anybody could have expected.' As the two leaders met, Singapore navy vessels and air force Apache helicopters patrolled, while fighter jets and a Gulfstream 550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft circled.
It however did not give any details on how denuclearisation would be achieved.

In 2014, Trump tweeted dismissively about the possibility that he and Rodman would someday travel to North Korea together. Mr Trump was optimistic that the talks would prove productive, saying: "We're going to have a great discussion and I think tremendous success".
Trump and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis have insisted the USA military presence and longstanding alliance with the South is not on the table in talks with the North.
"The fact that we have been chosen as the site of the meeting... says something about Singapore's relations with the parties - with America, with North Korea - (and) also our standing in the global community", said Lee.
Trump said North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is destroying a major missile engine testing site.
Trump and Kim met on Singapore's Sentosa Island for roughly 40 minutes while their entourages and the press waited nearby.
Ms Leong added both found it hard to hide their nervousness once they were seated, with Trump displaying a slanted smile, and fidgeting with his hands and Kim leaning and staring at the ground.
Asked by a reporter how the meeting was going, Trump said:"Very good".
