Cher Is Releasing an Album of ABBA Covers!

Here We Go Again out this week, I have the zeal of the convert.

But as Cher told Entertainment Tonight, "I just thought it was cool".

The 2008 film version of the hit musical featuring Abba songs was a box office triumph and 10 years later the follow-up Mamma Mia! "I was really nervous but all was great, and you [Amanda Seyfried] were adorable", Cher exclaimed.

"It's not what you think of when you think of Abba, because I did it in a different way", Cher said without revealing a tracklist or release date.

While the women are only three years apart, Cher, 72, plays the mother of Streep, 69, in the film and says she was "thrilled to death" to do it. Because it was the day that Sam (Pierce Brosnan) and Donna (Meryl Streep) had a romantic evening where they "danced on the beach, kissed on the beach, and dot dot dot" according to Donna's diary, which Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) finds and reads. Is everybody gathering around to watch the filming of the rest of the song?'

The sequel's cast additions include Lily James, who plays the younger Donna, and Cher, who portrays Donna's mother.

While walking the blue carpet, Cher and Streep spent some time in front of the flashbulbs together, presumably basking in their shared glory. Now, with Mamma Mia! "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" marks her first onscreen role since 2010's "Burlesque". "And Ron Meyer - who was my agent, who's the head of Universal - he called me up and said, 'You're doing Mamma Mia!' and hung up", she said.

"The first one was a good film, we were all happy about that", he said, adding that the studio had long pushed for another film to be made.
