Jose Mourinho: Every Premier League match will be tough this season

While some argue that City's Champions League ambitions might have to be put on hold for a few more years, Pep Guardiola's men look on course to retain the Premier League title despite only playing their season opener against Arsenal on Sunday.

City will make late checks on Aymeric Laporte and Benjamin Mendy after they picked up knocks during the Community Shield win over Chelsea last weekend but both players are expected to be passed fit.

Brazil legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pele, has predicted the English Premier League club that will win the title this season.

But it's not just fans in England that are getting excited at the return of the Premier League.

He also feels the £60m acquisition of Riyad Mahrez for Manchester City and the £170m Liverpool splashed on signings will put them two in contention for the title.

Guardiola's men were totally in control from the blast of the referee's whistle, and at no time did Arsenal look like they were going to threaten Ederson in goal, as City dominated proceedings from start to finish.

I think Liverpool take the points so the best bet is to back Mane to score in 90 minutes and the hosts to win at [2.95] on the Same Game Multi feature.

When asked if he was happy for City to be favourites, he said: "Since nine years I live with that situation, it's no problem. If we play good and are consistent like last season, we have a chance to repeat".

"We made a decision to spend, because we should spend, because we had seven, eight players more than 31-years-old". The players gave everything, they gave what they had. We had three points from City and they had three points from us.

Tottenham endured the most frustrating transfer window, becoming the first Premier League side to not sign anyone in a summer window since it was introduced in 2003. They were impressive against Chelsea, both sides were.

"We found success with good moves and good quality and perhaps in the second-half we had good energy to finish this performance for another result but I think at the end it is a disappointment".
