The 37-year-old newly crowned Duchess of Sussex apparently wants time apart from Thomas Markle, after he recently revealed that he hung up the phone on Prince Harry during a heated call prior to the Royal Wedding on May 19.
In an interview with another British tabloid The Mail on Sunday, Markle, who lives in Mexico, said how he had hung up the phone on Harry, 33, before the wedding after the prince berated him over the staged pictures.
The Duchess of Sussex's father said he was "upset" by Harry's tirade, which came as he recovered in hospital from a heart attack.
MailOnline has contacted Kensington Palace for a comment.
"For Harry and Meghan, the work continues and they're focused on their lives with each other", said ABC News royal contributor Omid Scobie.
While Meghan Markle's father Thomas is making a disastrous name for himself in the media with countless interviews berating the Royal Family, Markle's mother Doria Ragland remains close to her daughter and is even planning to move closer to her.
"I told her they wouldn't be able to come because they would never be able to afford the flight but that it would be a nice gesture on her part". Thomas claims Harry called him before the story about the photos went public, and asked if the report was true.
Mr Markle said he thinks the interviews had "locked the door, pulled the windows down and closed the shades" between himself and the Royal Family. He then claimed told Prince Harry, "Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead...then you could pretend to be sad". That it would end in tears.
In hindsight, he admits Harry was "absolutely right" to criticise him. "That hurt", he said. "She also fell in love with England and told me when she got back that it's somewhere she believes she too could happily live".
As a result of this conversation, Meghan, 36, decided her father needed "a bit of space" - and that she wanted to take some "time out" herself. "Following rumours that Meghan and Harry will start a family of their own in the near future, it makes sense that Ragland would want to be much nearer her daughter", Harper's Bazaar wrote. But as for the rest of it, f*** it.
